Religious Freedom overseas and at home

David Koyzis has written a good summary of some current religious freedom issues abroad and at home at First Things.

The number of Christians in the Middle East is drastically decreasing, and that decrease is accelerating with the “Arab Spring,” as populist, fundamentalist Muslim governments take over.  Christians face physical danger and death for practicing their faith in Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, and also outside the Middle East in China, Vietnam, and Nigeria, among others.

Here in the United States, the threats to religious freedom are a bit less immediately physical.  The HHS mandate is only one of many threats to our religious freedom, and unfortunately, many people do not even recognize that there is a threat.

Are you well-informed about the issues?  Are you sharing the information with your family, friends, and co-workers?
